Aazani Mujahid is a marine scientist with vast experience networking with local coastal/ riverine communities in Sarawak on previous national and international initiatives within the field of climate change adaptation and land-use changes in protected areas and vulnerable ecosystems in Malaysia. She is actively committed to engagement with stakeholders at the national, regional and international level. As the CTI-CFF Women’s Leaders Forum National Ambassador, she stands committed to project aims prioritising gender issues, and on various projects has been pressing the vital Role of Women. Recent projects involve empowering the youth and marginalised in local communities to effect changes in a myriad of issues including marine resource management, waste management, climate change adaptation, and working towards sustainable development for their communities. She has supervised/co-supervised over 90 undergraduate and 21 postgraduate students.
