Jacey-Lynn Minoi is a computer scientist, currently working at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, where she is Senior Lecturer of Computing and Data Analysis. She has vast experience with indigenous communities in Sarawak on national and international initiatives within the area of technology and social innovations. She is the leader in Biometric and Imaging group and Gamification group, whereby she is the driving force behind the co-creation and gamification in UNIMAS, an approach that is oriented towards creative use of technologies (robotic, programming) and philosophies (design thinking, Lego ® Serious Play) for the development of creativity, problem solving, collaboration and computational thinking. These work have been made to national and international media attention. Dr Minoi also often travel into the interiors of Sarawak, meeting and staying with the indigenous communities and empowering them with skills needed in her various projects on health informatics, aerial mapping using drones, fun learning, frugal innovation for climate change and community empowerment. Recently, she is appointed to be part of the COVID-19 Task Force of Sarawak State (Malaysia) under the Real-time Data Analysis team.
