Resonance: Echoes of Nature

Frugal Artist-In-Residence Programme for Playful and Co-Creative Community Engagement in Environmental Awareness and Impact

Resonance celebrates the creative synergy between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Coventry University. In this endeavour, local and international artists-in-residence, alongside students and community members, have co-created artworks that attune us to the unique spirit of the Pasir Pandak fishing village. Together, they transformed the village into a resonant artistic space – one that draws attention to its fragile environment and rich cultural heritage.

Assembled here are the artistic outcomes of our workshops—from the celestial blue of cyanotypes to the delicate tracery of leaf prints, a vibrant mural, a contemplative installation, and the resonant words of local poets. Together, these works form a sensory pathway that invites the public into the heart of Pasir Pandak’s heritage: a way of life shaped by the rhythms of the sea and the quiet beauty of its natural surroundings.
